Sunshine in my pocket

Pattern Palooza!

August 10, 2016 Paper Crafting

I certainly used a lot of patterns on this one! Had some fun, too. These are almost all Lawn Fawn papers and stamps. Notice the polka dot wings on the fairies (good  thing I didn’t add that to their skin…hello, chickenpox!). Notice the pattern on the mushrooms. Notice the pattern of the sky, grass, and background.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for this fun challenge!

Essentials by Ellen Mix it Up Challenge!

August 10, 2016 Paper Crafting

Today I’m participating in the Essentials by Ellen Mix it up Challenge for August with Winnie & Walter!

This card was a challenge for me. I used my Akayashi Sai watercolor markers and blended 3 colors together on the beautiful Hydrangea by Ellen Hutson. I love how it turned out, but it took me four days to finish!

with-markers  I had a vision to cut the right side of the card off and have some beautiful writing on the side. I ended up using my script background stamp, embossing in white, and inking on distress inks over the top. I’m not sure how well you can see the writing in the picture, but it turned out nice.

love-you

I added some inking around the edges of the white panel, and of course added shimmer to the flowers. The middles of the flowers are Stickles. In real life, this card has some beautiful shimmer and glitter!

I used my (only) Winnie & Walter stamp set…and embossed in white on black cardstock. Then I fussy cut that sentiment out. I originally thought I would cut out the black part in the “y” but it didn’t look right, so I left that part in.

Can you see the glittery goodness on this?

I love how it turned out! 🙂 This has to go to a special someone since I spent a lot of time on it!

Hope you enjoy.

Fairyland of Gold pathways

July 24, 2016 Paper Crafting

Well, it has been a while since I’ve posted. I just may have forgotten how to blog! Hopefully it will all come back.

Here’s the card that made me want to blog again:

new-fairyland

This cute fairyland has pathways of rainbow and gold and clouds that are sparkling clear!

I used Lawn Fawn stamps, Akashiya Sai watercolor markers, Distrink ink, and Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins. This was a fun shaker card to make and I think everyone looks pretty happy!

Happy Reindeer

November 24, 2015 Christmas, Holidays

Ok, I love this happy reindeer from Paper Smooches. Doesn’t he just make you smile? This is my final project (I think) for my Online Card Class Holiday Style.

reindeer-tag

I used some of my favorite RED SPARKLE embossing powder on the sentiment and the candy cane stripes! Can you see the sparkle? I love that stuff.

I had to do a bit of masking to add that HOLLY to the neck on the reindeer, and then to do some of the inking. Oh what fun this tag was to make!

I used distress markers as watercolor to color that cutie. I think I’ll add the “To/From” to the back of this tag for a Christmas gift!

Christmas Tree Baubles

November 24, 2015 Christmas, Holidays, Paper Crafting

Wow, this technique was so fun but time consuming! In the Holiday Style Online Card Class, May Park had an awesome sample of a triangle tree shape stamped with all kinds of small stamps and I thought I’d give it a try.

Turns out I have a LOT of small stamps that worked so well for this technique.

I decided to round the bottom of my tree and make the sentiment curved to match. I used my GOLD delicata ink for the very first time (thank you, Wendi!) and I love it! See those stars? They are stamped with the gold ink.

I used the same gold embossing powder on the sentiment and on the right and left edges of the card. So pretty. My husband loves this one! But I don’t think it’s a candidate for mass production. Lol. 🙂

Have a blessed Christmas!
